Christmas.... Ok Christmas is always a drama, but this year we survived relatively unscathed. Christmas eve we got in the beast and drove out to my parent's place, or I should say I drove as P is still on his L's. We got here in good time and with much relief, as we decided to bring the cat with us and you KNOW he cried for the whole 2 hour trip. However after a long drive we were given the "eat something" treatment, fed too much tea and cake and got to rest while our cat explored my parent's house. Now it should be said that our cat spent the first part of his life in a cattery, so that is a 2m x 2m x 2.5m cage, then, at the ripe old age of 12 weeks came to us, in our large Queenslander 3 br house right? and is NEVER allowed out as we live in the city near busy roads. Well my parent's have a 4 br+study two story house, this thing is more than twice the size of our Brisbane house, and the cat was perplexed with so much space. He was even more perplexed by there being an upstairs, and cannot quite fathom the sounds from above and took a while to work out how the stairs work. Of course he now jumps out between the stair risers and attacks our ankles. I slept poorly the first night here as P snored up a storm, which made me late for my yearly daddy torture. Ok I love traditions, and one of my traditions since I could work is to gallop in and literally jump on my father at 5am on Christmas morning. Yes I am 27, yes I STILL do this. Unfortunately due to a lack of sleep (only about 3 hours) I was 44 minutes late exactly, for which my father was grateful. Oh well, down to the presents! I got my beautiful CP Moon doll, Able Coma, which was a thrill, a second head, which will be Mikey, once Able's body arrives, and some gift heads from Luts...yes...I am greedy, I got three. My parents gave P and I a set of good cordless phones, which we needed and P also gave me some Dior loose powder which I really needed. My big thrill was when P opened his gift from me, a CP VDES, named Josephine. The thing is the dolls I opened were blank, bald, and naked, the one he opened was perfectly painted all in Pink (took me a full day to do) with Pink hair, and wearing pink lacy nickers and a pink leopardprint dress, and pink heels with bows. She was perfect and he looked thrilled. I had worked very hard to be sure she would be perfect when he opened her, and she was and that really made my day. (for a vampire she is VERY PINK). Of course this was followed by too much breakfast, which ran into too much lunch, my grandmother arrived and all. Today, boxing day, my brother and his partner will arrive, and at some point we will go back to Brisbane, but now I am getting off and heading into town, the sales are on and the fabric store is having 20% off everything, including the things already on sale, so away I go, to hoard MORE fabric XD | | Tuesday, December 19th, 2006 | | 12:12 pm |

Well, back in Mackay, this is my last business trip up here and I am glad for that. Of course last week went swimmingly so this week couldn't could it? Oh no, last night I hadn't received my flight advice, and finally got a phone call saying I had a 6.45 am flight, and to call the boss to double check. Well I try to cal the boss but his phone is off. So anyway, get up and head to the airport and discover that my flight was actually at 620, is now boarding and check in has been closed for 10 minutes and the airline are being anal bastards about it! many phone calls later my boss pays nearly $400 to put me on another airline's flight up at 7.30, so now I am happily at work.....but still....GAH and absurd, I have a red handbag, breifcase, shoes, hair, and car today, I MUST try to get a picture of this rediculous level of colour coordination. | | Wednesday, November 15th, 2006 | | 1:05 am |

On the road again....
Ok, yeah, big surprise, I am in Mackay again.... you would think by now this trip would go smoothly but NO! today is as messed up as every other trip I have taken! Theis is my fourht trip away on business, and I can tell ya something went wrong every time 1. got a traffic ticket in Charleville 2. got flown to the wrong location so all my appts were screwed up and I was exhausted 3. left my driver's licence behind so had drama getting a replacement and then the rental car so what happened with number four? well this is a tale so bear with me Tuesday, my day off, I am happily doing Laundry and chatting on the net when my boss calls, he can't get me on a Wednesday morning flight, so can I please leave Tuesday night GAH! three hours warning, so yeah, I hang around for confirmation from the travel agent, get conf. pack bags, 1.5 hours before I have to check in I order the cab, now that is an hour before I need that cab, plenty of time right? half an hour before I need the cab I decide to order one from another co as well, just to be sure. Time for the cab to arrives comes, passes, no show from either company, and realisation hits *facepalm* It is Melbourne Cup day so the whold country is pissed and cabs are booked out! I mean it is still unprofessional for them to just not turn up like that but still, a bit more comprehensible, and then I remember the other problem....U2 Yes U2 are partially to blame for a messed up business trip XD See U2 played in Brisbane on Tuesday night, so every cab not taking people home from the cup parties was taking people to the U2 concert. *sighz* so yes, I miss my flight and all my Wednesday appointments because the next flight with a free seat, on any airling, is not untill 2pm the following day. Of course I make that flight no trouble, and it is running late....-__- On we go, get to Mackay, get to the hotel, and sit down mulling how U2 is further responsible for this chaos.... you see I discovered something by talking to the flight staff... The early morning flight that I would normally have taken was booked solid, and the seat I got on the afternoon flight was the last one aailable, why? because half of Mackay was flying home after attending the U2 concert! Rock bands is there anything they can't do? I mean the sheer rediculousness of this situation has me in stitches, between the race that stops a nation, and a band that choked Brisbane and greater Queenslands mass transit systems my insignificant trip has been thrown into chaos LMFAO! oh and ladies and gents it gets worse, I get to work today and fid that yes, all of my appts from yesterday are rescheduled fine...but there are none scheduled for today! I call Perth, who go mad trying to reschedule some so that the company is not paying a couple of grand for me to stay in a resort, fly arond Qld and have a rental car for three days for a not work holliday XD oh the insanity! but yes, loks like they found me some work, so now I had better go do it. | | Monday, November 6th, 2006 | | 1:25 am |
more bitch..er...venting, sorry
so, I am tired, bone tired.... I flew ome, after driving for five hours total and doing a full day's work, I get in and finish up on Krystabelle's wedding dress, for saturday! all that was left was to pop the eyelets in and stitch up the boneing.... Saturday morning dawns with a downpour, I can only imagine how much extra stress this caused at the wedding but I had problems of my own....I went out and got the eyelets, and got into a FUCKING CAR ACCIDENT ON THE WAY! ok, my car is still driveable, in fact all three cars are, and no one is hrt, but christ! so anyway, the guy who hit me is lovely, the guy I hit is a bit of a wanker, worried about his beamer, and I am just thankful I was driving the beast, so a hammer and five minutes and the rear bumper will be as good as new. So yes, nerves are shot, get the eyelets, get home, discover she only gave me half my order! I have to drive all the way back out, that is an hour I DON'T have, and in the mean time the motehr of the bride tells me she wants me there 2 hours earlier than when I arranged with the bride. Now I completely understand how stressed theywere, but man that was SOOOOOO NOT HAPPENING! we ended up getting it done, get there at the appointed original time, everything gets done with minimal hitches, hell even the rain clears in time for the ceremony and reception! but yeah, stress stress, sress. Sunday.....Sunday I spend the WHOLE DAY doing reports I hadn't gotten done during the week, and feeling like hell, and realising I am coming down with something. I would have loved some time with Perrin, but I didn't have that luxury, I spent some time chatting OL while I worked though so there was at least some fun. I go them all done, and am sending them off today, but man, this has been a hell week. I am pretty sure I am not working tomorrow, so that will be a relief. Ok...here is a little tale about the adventures of Business travels..... I had halloween off, so I spent a happy day working on a friend's wedding dress for her saturday wedding and chatting with friends, knowing I am flying away on a 3 day business trip the next day...and realise I hav not gotten the itineary...so call the boss...no answer, call the office, all gone for the day, call the national office....they say talk to my boss, so several messages and hours later (9pm) she calls back very apologetic and starts finding things out for me. By this pount I have Perrin calling every airline trying to find out if I have a flight booked, and when my boss finally lets me know what is hapening it turns out I was on the one airline that we couldn't speak to! so yea, go to bed late, up at 5 am... -__- 5am wakeup, go to station, train is early so I miss it, means I catch the next one and hae to RUN in stilettos to make my flight....and realise I don't have my driver's licene with me, but I have enough credit cards that they believe me and give me the boarding pass. So I make it, the flight is ok, and I arrive in Mackay....with no driver's licence....which means no rented car -__- $10 cab into work, work till lunch, $10 cab into the DMV 30 minute wait forms all approved $25 please...I only had $20 cash cos of the taxis....do they take credit? YES *happy dance* then I hear the words "oh sorry we don't take Am Ex..... I have money in my second bank account, the one NOT attached to my card.... $10 into town, get money, $10 back, 30 min wait, get licence pay money, get cab to airport, credit card declined, fucker is maxed.... I convince the cabby to let me pay later, wonderful woman I get the ca and drive back to work....late for my 2pm appt....who luckily cancells, see my 33o...back to the hotel and collapse..... oh yeah and the receptionist tells me I am booked in fo next week too....O.o I didn't know I was up here next week...company didn't tell me. Halloween doll meet was a lot of fun, even a hungover Perrin had fun, and in the end was happy he took Josephine, even though she is not on her final body (she is still on a male body). We enjoyed seeing a lot of new dolls and meeting new fanciers, and I finally got to see the magazine article regarding the dolls to which the group contributed early this year. I have to say it was amusing to see Corpse in a magazine, in what looked very much like a centrefold spread!. At the meet of couse Min and Corpse got up to all kinds of mischief, Kana remained sweet as ever, and Devin made a new friend with Ka's freshly arrived Bermann. Tonight I hope to resize and post picks, selected shots will also be included in the boy's journal, in a IC RP capacity....it was a HELL of a lot of fun, we need to have more meetups! | | Sunday, October 29th, 2006 | | 12:47 am |

Mackay has proven to make up for the horrendous start I have had to this trip. I have enjoyed the last couple of days and am not horribly disappointed to be returning next week. My only real sadness is that I will not be able to be with Perrin, and i do miss him while away, though I don't miss his snoring. The heavy and refreshing slee I have had over the past few days has revealed how much the snoremonster disturbs me and how much my little cat disturbs me a well...maybe the cat needs to be going back into "his bedroom" at nights so I can rest, though what I will do about the snoring I don't know. I just know it would be nice not to wake up five times a night.... |
